Dr. Robert Wilson is the doctor of the future. Depressed. Defeated. Docile.
The year is 2054, and Wilson longs for the thrill and reward of medicine in days past. Medicine the way it was meant to be. As Wilson recalls the principles that drew him to the field, he finds himself facing off against the system designed to undermine those very principles, and comes to terms with the mistakes he’s made in his life.
I’m a writer at heart, but I’m also a doctor. The things we see, from day to day, can be really tough. It takes time to reconcile them, and time is not something we, in the medical field, have a surplus of. We are encouraged to reflect on the things we’ve experienced. I do that in writing. This story is about the importance of the doctor-patient relationship, the failings of private healthcare, and the rise of technology in the clinic. I hope you like it!
